Affordable and accessible child care is essential for many working families.
The WBCP partnership recognizes the vital role that affordable and accessible childcare plays in supporting working families. To address this need, the general assembly has passed laws to allow in-home daycares that care for more than 10 children to function without a commercial oven, and they no longer require people to have a degree in early childhood education to apply for a director’s position in a childcare facility. These changes are expected to make it easier for childcare providers to operate and increase the availability of affordable childcare options in the region.
