SILOAM SPRINGS, AR (August 6, 2024) – Today, the Western Benton County Partnership (WBCP) announced a $339,800 grant awarded by the Arkansas Community Foundation. The grant, to be dispersed over the next three years, aims to recruit and support individuals in starting in-home childcare services, ensuring certifications are up to date and households are safe and secure for children.
In partnership with Early Childhood Solutions (ECS), a leader in expertise, training, and consultation for child welfare, this initiative will enhance the quality and availability of in-home childcare across Western Benton County. ECS, co-founded by Elizabeth Scudder and Debbie Mays, will play a critical role in equipping new childcare providers with the necessary skills and knowledge to create safe and nurturing environments for children.
Elizabeth Scudder, co-founder of ECS, said, “We are excited to partner with the Western Benton County Partnership on this transformative initiative. At Early Childhood Solutions, our mission is to ensure that every child has access to high-quality, safe, and nurturing care environments. This grant allows us to lay the foundation for a brighter future for families across Western Benton County.”
“Providing and improving quality of life is a pillar of focus for the Western Benton County Partnership, Tyler Dees, Executive Director of WBCP, said. “Because of the Arkansas Community Foundation’s grant, we can offer safe and reliable childcare options, giving parents the freedom to pursue workforce opportunities, which will lead to good-paying jobs and an improved quality of life for families in Benton County. We’re thrilled to collaborate with Early Childhood Solutions on this crucial initiative.”
The grant period will run August 2024 through September 2027 during which time the Western Benton County Partnership and ECS will work diligently to expand the network of qualified in-home childcare providers, fostering a safer and more supportive community for our children and families.
